Seattle Convention Center Summit

Following years of study and demand from convention goers who prefer to meet in Seattle, the Seattle Convention Center (SCC) has recently opened an additional facility developed by the Pine Street Group L.L.C. (PSG). Summit is a transformative project that provides a host of economic benefits, including millions in annual visitor spending and thousands of direct and indirect jobs. As part of the project, SCC also is funding more than $93 million in community benefits, including $40 million to support affordable housing.

Summit is:

  • Enabling the convention center to book the many international, national, regional and local events it historically turns away due to lack of date availability or adequate space.
  • Creating steady year-round demand for Seattle’s hotels, restaurants, retail and entertainment venues.
  • Creating hospitality jobs, and generating taxes to support local and regional jurisdictions.
  • Supporting a diverse construction workforce with Summit contracting, including more than 30 percent from Priority Hire zip codes and 22 percent apprentices, as well as more than $150 million in work contracted with women- and minority-owned business enterprises.

The program for Summit includes two co-development projects to be owned and completed by others. They include an office building now under construction by owner Hudson Pacific Properties and a separate apartment project.
